Our Apartments

Where are the apartments located
Thomsen Apartments have more than 20 apartments located in different locations in Reykiavik. 14 days before arrival you will receieve detailed chech-in instructions how to get to your apartment. All addresses are at the center of the city.Our apartments are easily accessible for public transport, restaurants and supermarket. Everything is close by and which makes it easy to experience the entire city of Reykiavik. What does include each apartment?
Bedroom/s, kitchen, dining and seating area. Some have and balcony, Private bathroom with a shower, free toiletries and a hairdryer.
Are there cooking facilities in the apartment?
All our apartments have a fully equipped kitchen/ dishwasher, oven, fridge, coffee machine, kettle, coffee and tea, kitchen untensils./ No matter what apartment type you are living in, you will always be able to cook your own meal
Is there a lift in the buildings?
The buildings are 2 to 4 floors buildings and there is no elevator
Do you offer smoking rooms?
No, it is forbidden to smoke in all our apartments. There will be a fee of 70 Euro if it is smoked in one of our apartments, or anywhere in our properties.
Do you have a Reception desk?
Our apartments are Self check-in and check-out apartments, there is no Reception desk
Do you have parking spaces or where can I park nearby the location?
There are no privite parking slots but there is street parking in the areas around our addresses. You need to check how much it costs and how long you can park in parking information in Reykavik
Are parties allowed?
Thomsen Apartments has a "ZERO tolerance" policy on loud behavior that disturbs other guests. Non-compliance will result in immediate termination of your reservation.

How do I make a reservation?
You can book your stay on our online booking
How can I cancel or change my reservation?
If you have ordered through a third party agent, all changes and cancellations must be made through them. "If your order is made through our website, We require 30 days cancellation notice prior to your scheduled arrival, otherwise we will keep 100%  of the total charged  amount as a  fee. 

* In case of No show we will keep  100%  of the total charged  amount as a  fee.
***Non-refundable offer-in case of cancellation, modification or no-show the total price of the reservation will be charged."

Cancellation and amendment conditions is included in your booking confirmation. All cancellation must be made in writing.
Can I receive a confirmation of my booking?
Yes, you will receive a confirmation by email. It's important that you look through the confirmation and make sure it's correct. In case of errors, contact us as soon as possible. If you have booked through a travel agency you will receive the confirmation from them.
How do I pay for my stay?
As our apartments are self check-in apartments you need to pay online in advance with your credit or debit card. Note that we do not accept cash payment. All the information regarding the payment it will show when you make the reservation step by step You need to read carefully your cancellation and prepayment policies
Do I need to pay a deposit?
We require prepayment equal of the total amount
How do I extend my stay?
Should you wish to extend your stay, please contact us. We would be more than happy to help you.

Our Services

What is included in my stay?
WiFi and cable TV, bed linen and towels in the apartment upon arrival soap and shampoo. Cleaning of the apartment and new towels / linens during the stay is not included, but can be booked as an additional service. Hair dryer, cooking facilities.
Where i can change money?
Do not buy Icelandic currency in your country, as you might get a very bad rate. There are banks and Cash machines at the airport and they are in service 24 hours.
Can we pay with credit card ?
Yes, Visa and MasterCard are accepted everywhere in Iceland and there is no minimum. You can pay taxis and buses with a card and even buy a cup of coffee with a credit card. AMEX is not widely accepted as it has been badly serviced here in the past years.

Where do I check in?
The apartments are self check-in, you will receive detailed check-in instructions
Can I get an early check in and / or late checkout?
Early check-in or late check-out: Check-in is after 3PM.Early check-in is subject to availability at the time of arrival and cannot be confirmed in advance. If early check-in is available, there will be an extra charge of 60 Euro for check-in at 10 am. Late check-out is not available.
Do you offer luggage storage
One of our buildings has luggage room, for the rest you can use public luggage in Reykiavik

During your stay

What if any maintenance-related issues should occur during my stay?
Contact us and we will do our best to solve the problem as soon as possible
Is the cleaning of the apartment during my stay included?
No, cleaning fee has additional fee
Do you supply extra consumer goods like toilet paper and garbage bags, etc.?
Yes
What if I lose my key or get locked out of the apartment?
If you lose your key there is a fee
If you lock out in working hours we can open for you but outside of the working hours it is paid
What should I do if the fire alarm goes?

Check-out

Do i need to clean the apartment before checkout?
No
I've forgotten something in the apartment!

Party policy: Thomsen Apartments has a "ZERO tolerance" policy on loud behavior that disturbs other guests. Non-compliance will result in immediate termination of your reservation. Intoxicated guests at check in, will be refused service.

Duty Free: Remember that there is a Duty Free store for incoming passengers at Keflavik airport and this is you last chance of buying your Duty free allowance of beer (12 cans), wine (one liter) and spirits (one liter). Once you have entered Iceland the government taxes alcohol heavily and the prices can be 3 times more expensive than at the airport.

Electricity: Iceland has 220 voltage and standard European (German type) plugs. Please bring plug adaptors, but you should not bring equipment that need 110 volts only like hair dryers but cameras and computers usually have dual voltage.
